Step Two: When to Buy

A great company is a great stock only if it can be acquired inexpensively. Think cheap, cheap, cheap.

We buy great companies that are out of favor. We buy stocks that only look expensive. Under some conditions a PE of 50 might be cheap. We have a range for each Great Stock, reflecting current market conditions.

Step Three: When to Sell

Sell reluctantly.

These are strong long-term positions. We sell only when fundamentals change--or the stock rockets to the top of our range.
