Even the most advanced methods require the right human touch
Jeffrey A. Miller, Ph.D.
President and Portfolio Manager |
Jeffrey A.
Miller, PhD, 56, is the CEO and fund manager and has
guided the Sector Rotation Fund throughout its exceptional
history. Through his years of experience in trading
options, futures, and equities, Jeff has come to be
regarded as an expert in interpreting the effect of
news on the markets and individual stocks. Since he
worked for nearly ten years as a researcher and forecaster,
he has a deep understanding of how the NewArc models
work. He trades the models effectively and knows when
to intervene.
Before beginning his financial career in October 1987,
Jeff was a college professor who worked extensively
with quantitative modeling of sophisticated state and
local tax issues. This background helps him to trade
the models effectively and to teach other members of
the team. |

Vince Castelli, Ph.D.
Research Director
|
Vince Castelli, 56, our Research Director
is a brilliant scientist who was a civilian employee
of the Navy for thirty years. The Navy invested heavily
in Vince’s education and training, and enjoyed
handsome returns in the form of innovations important
to our country’s security. Most of these are secret,
but Vince and one of his ideas were featured in a big
photo spread in Popular Science of August, 2002.
Many on Wall Street try to use advanced
mathematical and engineering models. Jeff recognized
that Vince was using these techniques earlier and much
more effectively than the competition. Put simply, Vince
has skills in modeling that you can’t learn in
a classroom. He has been doing financial modeling for
twenty years, first as a consultant and later for NewArc. |

Allen A. Russell, Ph.D.

Allen A. Russell, PhD,
56, is NewArc’s Chief Programmer and is also an
expert statistician. He helped to develop the process
we use to identify sectors. He is experienced in computer
simulation modeling, data analysis, and quantitative
market research. As old grad school colleagues and friends,
he and Jeff have collaborated on many modeling projects
over the years.
Also a former university professor, Allen
currently works in the private sector as a researcher
and statistician in healthcare field, responsible for
designing and coding simulation model of the progression
and treatment of diabetes. |

Ryan T. Gister, B.S.
Financial Analyst
|
Ryan T. Gister, B.S.,
25, does a great job as both a Trader and Financial
Analyst. He has shown great skill screening and picking
stocks and analyzing data. He also has a special flair
for trading. Ryan's trades often get a little bit extra
for our clients.
A fine student, Ryan is a recent graduate
of Illinois State University, with a B.S. in Finance
with an emphasis in Investments. NewArc recruited him
two years ago because, as Jeff says, "You can't
coach speed!" |

Sherri Schatz
|
Sherri Schatz, our Project
Director, is the face of NewArc for most of our customers.
She provides more help and solves more problems in a week
than most people do in a month. Sherri helps keep the
whole office on track, making sure everything is done
on time and mistakes are avoided. |
